When and as time permits, this index page may be replaced with a broad discussion of journalism and history (the foci of The Record), both globally and particularly in the United States. For now, however, it is only that: an entry-point for this section.
As you will have noted, this site is divided into twelve distinct areas (technically “subdomains”), accessible on every page via the navigation tabs surrounding the banner image near the top. These we call sections, and they roughly correspond to the “categories” found on some popular blogging platforms.
In turn, almost every section contains a number of directories and subdirectories corresponding to classes of topics within the more general subject area of the section, and within those (sub)directories are pages addressing topics falling into the indicated class. Where some individual pages should be placed is sometimes a difficult decision, since the articles on them touch on multiple topics; we have done our best to classify such pages intuitively, but you are invited to advise us if you feel that a page is misclassified.
Below and to the right, you will see a menu for this section. Every page in the section appears on it, so if you’re looking for an article on this subject, you need look no farther. If the article you want is in a different section, click one of the tabs atop any page to enter the appropriate section. And if you’re not sure, you can find all the pages on this site listed, with descriptions and excerpts, on our Site Map.
If you want a particular article and still can’t find it, click the “Contact Us” link at the bottom of the page, and we will do our best to help you.
And if you don’t have a specific article in mind, explore at will.
